The Friday Food Market at The Rocks, also known as the Friday Foodie Market, is weekly from 9am-3pm at Jack Mundey Place (a short walk from Circular Quay or from Sydney CBD).
The Foodie Market is made up of a number of stalls selling various foods, for example dried beef, jams, BBQ skewers, sushi, gelato, cupcakes, wraps, sausages and more. You’ll often only need $10 to get a full meal here, and the area is surrounded by beautiful places to sit and enjoy your food. If you’re too busy on Fridays or work too far from the Rocks to make it there and back on time at lunch break, you’re in luck. The Rocks holds its weekly market on Saturdays for clothes, jewellery and deco, where some of the Foodie stall-owners will set up too!
Having gone at least 4 times, we’ve tried the hot dog (not always there, but absolutely delicious if you find it!), the Chicken Tikka and Homemade Meatball wraps (definitely Chicken Tikka, but the wraps aren’t to die for) and the Gozleme (Turkish pastry with spinach, cheese and lemon – different but light and delicious). To take away, the Mini Monet Cupcakes are also adorable if you can get in line early enough to choose your flavours (by 1 or 2pm only the reject falvours are left).
