Arthur Street Cafe may look like your little local coffee shop, but expect so much more. Located on 26 Arthur Street in Baulkham Hills, this breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot is open everyday from 8am-4pm.
If you’re in The Hills, it is definitely a must-try… And if you’re not, it might just be worth the drive – check out their IG @arthurstreetcafe and decide for yourself.
The café is relaxed and bubbly, making it the perfect place to study or work, or to catch-up with friends. It is clearly a hit with locals in The Hills – for 10am on a Thursday, it was pretty busy – but the rest of us are missing out! We went for breakfast and were overwhelmed with the menu options; from healthy breakfast and acai bowls, French toast, to breakfast bruschetta, eggs benedict and so much more.
The Smoked Salmon House Bruschetta ($15.90) with avocado, rocket and ricotta looked to-die-for, and it was! We got two huge slices of toast, topped with a deliciously creamy ricotta-avocado smash. This honestly beat any Avo smash we have ever tried – the toast was so crisp and the toppings were so fresh! Other House Bruschetta’s also sound like a must-try, but this dish alone probably could have filled us both for the entire day.
We couldn’t resist the Breakfast Bowl ($12) with seasonal fruit, granola, pistachios and coconut chia pudding. This is something you see on Instagram and wonder where in the world you can find it.
The pudding was so light and freshly sweet, and there’s also a little milk jug for you. The fruits were better than the ones I buy for home – you’ll get a full selection of mango, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, passionfruit, banana, and of course, coconut shavings.
It’s really hard to limit your choices with Arthur Street Café’s menu, so we had to have a third. The Famous French Toast ($17.50) is absolutely out-of-this-world and I’ve never heard of anything like it. With cinnamon brioche, poached pears, crumble topping, salted caramel sauce and a side of double cream, it is the fluffiest and most un-forgettable French toast you will ever taste.
Complete with three pieces of soft, light bread, the cinnamon, caramel and pear flavours go so well together. At this point, we were absolutely stuffed – but it was so good that we kept stuffing ourselves.
The coffee also has to be mentioned. We ordered a Cappuccino ($3.80) and Chai Latte ($4), and I have to say that the Chai Latte was one of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re just looking for an afternoon treat, grab a coffee and a cronut – they look so good!
Service is super friendly and they’ll give you the best advice on what to eat.
The value is really worth it – you’ll get huge portions that taste nutritious and delicious. There’s your weekend sorted.
